An Interview with John
Q. What is the best memory you have from a previous birthday?
A. On my 18th Birthday, my dad took me for my first “legal” drink. It was really cool hanging out with him. I wish I could do that again.
Q. How about the worst? And why?
A. My 60th Birthday. My mother died a couple months before and while I should have celebrated the milestone of my 60th, I just wasn’t into it.
Q. What was the present you’ve received for your birthday that surprised you most?
A. When I was 8 years old, my parents gave me a tape recorder. It was a really great surprise and I had a lot of fun times playing with it.
Q. Is there a food or dish that you insist on eating on your birthday?
A. I love having home made hamburgers with noodles and gravy.
Q. What do you believe is the most important aspect of celebrating a birthday?
A. Just being able to get together with one’s family is the most important thing to me.
Q. Do you have any traditions or thing you always do to celebrate a birthday? What is it?
A. Singing Happy Birthday!
