FAQ

Since the project requires that the subjects answer a questionnaire, everyone being photographed must be at least 5 years old at the time their picture is taken. Exceptions to this rule will not be made.

The collaborators involved in the project are in the following locations: Calgary – Alberta, London – UK, Mexico City – Mexico, Mississauga – Ontario, Montreal – Quebec, Ottawa – Ontario, Port Hope – Ontario. Although we will give preference to people that live in the cities listed, we will do our best to accommodate subjects in other areas.

Anyone is welcome to be part of this project, but a few requirements are in place. Since we are looking to photograph people that were born in each one of the dates in a year, in order to be photographed your date of birth must be “open” meaning that we cannot have already photographed someone for that date. The best way to find out if you qualify is to visit the Be Part of It page and check the calendar to confirm we are still looking for someone with your date of birth.

We would like to first thank you for your interest in being a Collaborator. We now have a complete team and are no longer looking for additional collaborators. But we would still like for you to be involved, so why not be a subject instead??

The short answer is no, however that would be too simple. You might, but we can’t guarantee it. Most of the collaborators in the project will be traveling a fair bit during 2015 and it may be possible to fit you in for a shoot, but it will depend on many things. We will give preference to people that live in and around the areas covered (Calgary – Alberta, London – UK, Mexico City – Mexico, Mississauga – Ontario, Montreal – Quebec, Ottawa – Ontario, Port Hope – Ontario). Send us a request and we will see if it can be done.

In a nutshell: it is a group of photographers on a mission to find 366 willing subjects to be photographed. Subjects need to be born on each day of the year, from January 1st to December 31st. The ultimate goal is to compiled a body of work and stories to be published online and in a photo book.

All collaborators have full creative control over the photos they will be taking, so it will be up to them to decide where to take each picture. A location for each photo will be agreed upon between the subject and the collaborator. It may happen in a studio, in a pool, at the beach, a hospital, a workplace…. anywhere.

You will not be able to pick who takes your photograph. That decision will be made based on your location and the closest available collaborator/photographer. So, if you live in London – UK, you will be photographed by Joel Robison, but if you live in Mississauga you may be photographed by Camila Gargantini or Cyndal Lorch… you get the point right?

If you have been chosen to be photographed for the project you will be contacted to arrange a photo session with a collaborator close to you. You will be required to complete a questionnaire, pose for photos and sign a model release authorizing us to use your image and info for the project.
