An Interview with Eric
Q. What is your best memory/moment from one of your past birthdays?
A. One of my best memories from a past birthday was when I was around 10 years old I had a party at Lazer Tag. For some reason that birthday party always sticks out in my head.
Q. How about the worst? And why?
A. The worst memory from a past birthday was the first birthday after my grandfather passed away. His birthday is the day before mine and we often celebrated our birthdays together.
Q. What was the present you’ve received for your birthday that most surprised you?
A. The present that most surprised me on my birthday was a gigantic birthday card and a “Super Dad” book from my daughter. I’m not sure who enjoyed the card and book more, my daughter or myself since she continually asks to read the book to me and see the card she made.
Q. Is there one food or dish that you insist in eating during your birthday celebration?
A. On every birthday we would get to choose what we wanted for dinner and what type of cake we wanted that night. My favourite cake was my moms home made chocolate cake with banana icing. As I got older my mom informed me that the icing that she made was actually jello pudding.
Q. What do you believe is the most important aspect of celebrating a birthday?
A. The most important part of celebrating a birthday is showing that person how important they are and making them feel special.
Q. Do you/your family/culture have any traditions/rituals/ceremonies that are performed to celebrate birthdays? What is it?
A. As a family we always get together for each other’s birthday for dinner and cake.
