“Running is a kind of melodic flight, accompanied by the feet beating a rhythm on the ground” from The Secret Language of Birthdays by Gary Goldschneider & Joost Elffers
“Dave and I met back in 2011 when I went to Winnipeg for work. He had messaged me about his date of birth being open but since he was in a location not covered by the project, we thought it was going to be difficult to get his portrait done. Until I decided to try and squeeze a session in during my road trip across Canada this past fall. I was in Winnipeg for the night and Dave was kind enough to offer his home for me to stay at with my husband and dog. He and his wife were so kind and great hosts. We managed to complete his portrait in a corner of his home where he keeps his most treasured images of his grandkids.” – Camila G
