An Interview with Erika & Kira

Q. What is the best memory you have from a previous birthday?

Erika. My best memories of previous birthdays are the ones that aren’t extraordinary, just normal. But I loved them because I got to spend them with poeple who care about me and who I care about.

Kira. Celebrating and being with my family.

Q. How about the worst? And why?

Erika. Fortunately, I have never yet had a birthday that I would describe as “the worst”. They were all perfect to me.

Kira. When my birthday party was over because everyone left.

Q. What was the present you’ve received for your birthday that surprised you most?

Erika. Getting a second piercing in each ear. I didn’t ever think I would have been allowed to get them and my parents surprised me when they said I could.

Kira. None of the presents that I’ve gotten have surprised, that I can remember.

Q. Is there a food or dish that you insist on eating on your birthday?

Erika. Cake. I always insist on cake. Not ice cream cake or anything like that, always regular cake (of different varieties).

Kira. Cake.

Q. What do you believe is the most important aspect of celebrating a birthday?

Erika. I think the most important aspect of celebrating a birthday is to have the people you care about with you, that’s what makes it special.

Kira. Being with the people you love and being happy.

Q. Do you have any traditions or thing you always do to celebrate a birthday? What is it?

Erika. Not really.

Kira. Usually I spend my birthday with either my family or my friends.
